Data sources
Pull progress data from the tools your team already uses
Overview
Connect a data source to a key result (KR) when its current value already lives in another tool. Tability can retrieve that value while you are checking in, so you do not have to switch between applications or copy the number manually.
Data sources are available on Plus and Premium subscriptions, and during a trial. Auto-sync requires Premium or a trial.
You need permission to edit the KR. Workspace administrators can also restrict which connectors members are allowed to configure.
Connect a data source
Open the KR.
In the Data connector section, click Add data source. You can also edit the KR and open the Data source tab.
Select a data source.
If prompted, connect the relevant workspace or personal account.
Configure the metric or query, then save it.

The list you see depends on your workspace configuration and permissions. Tability supports connected services such as Google Sheets, Jira, HubSpot, Salesforce, Sentry, Power BI, Tableau and SQL databases, as well as work-management tools and other supported integrations.
If a connector is marked not connected, follow the prompt to connect the required account first. If its detailed configuration is hidden, ask a workspace owner, admin or IT admin to allow the connector or make the change for you.
Use the connected value
During a check-in

When you create a check-in, Tability retrieves the current value from the connected source. Review the value, then add the context and confidence that the number alone cannot provide.
Sync the value immediately
Open the KR and click the connected source in the Data connector section to retrieve the latest value without waiting for the next scheduled sync. Tability also shows when the source was last synced.
Sync on a schedule
Premium workspaces can create automated progress updates on a daily or weekly schedule. See Auto-sync for data sources.
Link to supporting data
Choose Link when you only need to make a dashboard, report or source page easy to reach. Tability displays the URL during check-ins but does not retrieve a numeric value from it. Links do not support auto-sync.
Rollups and initiative-based KRs
Do not use a data-source connector to calculate progress from dependent KRs or completed initiatives. These legacy connectors are read-only.
Instead, edit the KR and choose the appropriate KR type:
Roll up from dependent KRs to calculate progress from connected KRs.
Initiatives or milestones completed to calculate progress from attached work.
Data sources are not available for rollup or milestone KR types because their progress is calculated inside Tability.
Change or remove a data source
Open the KR.
In the Data connector section, click the settings icon.
Use the Data source tab to change the configuration, enable auto-sync, or remove the current source.
Removing a data source stops future retrievals. Existing check-ins remain in the KR history.
