# Create and use KPI Views

KPI Views are reusable, ordered collections of KPIs. They are designed for focused metric reviews—for example, a weekly executive scorecard, a monthly growth review, or a daily support-operations view.

Each View displays the latest actual and active target for every period. KPI values remain read-only in the View; open the KPI itself when you need to edit its data.

## Create a View

1. Open **KPIs** in the workspace sidebar.
2. Select the **Views** tab.
3. Select **Create view**.
4. Enter a name.
5. Choose the preferred display mode and date range.
6. Choose the View's workspace access.
7. Select **Create**.

New Views default to a weekly display covering three months.

## Available date ranges

| Display mode | Available ranges       |
| ------------ | ---------------------- |
| **Day**      | 1 or 3 months          |
| **Week**     | 1, 3, or 12 months     |
| **Month**    | 1, 3, 12, or 24 months |

Weekly periods run Monday to Sunday. Ranges use the workspace time zone and include the current calendar month plus the preceding months.

## Add KPIs to a View

1. Open the View.
2. Select **Add KPI**.
3. Search for a KPI you can view.
4. Select the KPI and add it.

A KPI can belong to several Views, but it appears only once in a particular View.

## Read the View

The View opens at the latest period and can be scrolled horizontally to review older data.

For each KPI:

* The KPI name and owner stay visible while you scroll.
* **Target** shows the target active in each period.
* **Actual** shows the latest value recorded in each period.
* Actuals that meet the target use on-track styling; actuals that miss it use off-track styling.
* A targetless KPI shows only its neutral **Actual** row.

Select a KPI name to open its KPI panel.

## Temporarily change the timeline

Use the display-mode and range selectors above the table to inspect the View at a different cadence. These changes are temporary and do not change the shared View settings.

If you have edit access and want to change the default for everyone:

1. Open the View's **More** menu (`...`).
2. Select **Edit settings**.
3. Change the name, preferred display mode, or date range.
4. Save the changes.

When you change the display mode, Tability limits the range selector to ranges supported by that mode.

## Reorder or remove KPIs

Editors can drag complete KPI blocks into the preferred order. Tability preserves the positions of KPIs that an editor cannot see.

To remove a KPI, select the remove action beside its name. Removing it from the View does not delete the KPI or affect its use in other Views and plans.

## Manage View access

Views use the same access model as KPIs:

* **Everyone can edit**
* **Everyone can view**
* **No workspace access**, with access provided to selected people or teams

Open the View's **More** menu (`...`) and select **Manage access** to change these settings.

The standard lock beside a View name means workspace members can view it but cannot all edit it. A red lock means global workspace access is disabled.

{% hint style="info" %}
View access and KPI access are independent. Someone may be allowed to open a View but still see fewer KPI rows because they do not have access to every KPI in it. The KPI count shown to them also includes only KPIs they can see.
{% endhint %}

Workspace owners and admins can always view and edit every View. Read-only workspace members can view granted Views but cannot change them.

## Delete a View

1. Open the View's **More** menu (`...`).
2. Select **Delete**.
3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a View removes only the collection. It does not delete any KPI or KPI history.
