Add a KPI to a plan when the metric provides useful operating context for the goals in that plan. The plan displays a KPI card with its latest value, status, last update, and description.
The attachment reuses the workspace KPI. Updating it from the KPI panel updates the same KPI everywhere it appears.
Open the plan's tracking view.
Find the KPIs section.
Select Add KPI.
Search for a KPI you can view.
Select the KPI and add it.
You need edit access to the plan and at least view access to the KPI. A KPI can be attached to multiple plans.
Select its KPI card to open the full KPI panel. What you can do next depends on your KPI permission:
KPI editors can change values, targets, settings, ownership, and data sources.
KPI viewers can inspect its history but cannot change it.
If you can edit the plan, use the remove action on the KPI card and confirm the removal.
Removing the attachment does not delete the KPI, its history, or its attachments to other plans and Views.
Access to a plan never grants access to its KPIs automatically:
Plan viewers see only attached KPIs they are allowed to view.
A plan editor cannot attach a KPI they cannot view.
Someone may be able to edit a plan but have view-only access to an attached KPI.
Someone may be able to edit a KPI but have view-only access to the plan.
Manage plan permissions and KPI permissions separately so the intended audience can see both layers.
The KPI section appears in plans only for workspaces with KPI access. KPIs and KPI Views are available on Tability Premium and during a Tability trial.
